Location Information

Lake Agnes (11,000 feet above sea level) is high in the North Platte watershed at tree line just below the Continental Divide in the Never Summer Range. Dozens of similar “cirque lakes” are points of origin for many of the numerous mountain streams that merge in the valley below to form the North Platte. Lake Agnes is at the headwaters of the Michigan River, one of the primary tributaries of the upper North Platte.
