Mary Harner has spent a lifetime living along, exploring, and appreciating the beauty of rivers and floodplains. She seeks to share knowledge of wetland ecosystems and examples of how landscapes change over time with broad audiences. Mary is a longtime partner with PBT and a research professor in the departments of Communication and Biology at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where she combines science communication and ecological research. She collaborates on projects that include use of multimedia to document and convey change in river systems and involves students in interdisciplinary research. In her free time, she enjoys walks with her family and their dog, when possible, near a river.
