Devil’s Thumb Ranch

The Fraser River was recognized as one of the United State’s most endangered rivers. Increasing diversion from Denver Water and Colorado’s front range threatened to drain the river completely dry at times. An agreement between Grand County and Denver Water along with several other parties produced the Mitigation and Enhancement Plan for the Fraser. This camera focuses on a section of the river that was a beneficiary of the plan where it passes through Devil’s Thumb Ranch. The modified streambed is expected to improve flows and aquatic life habitat.
