North Loup River

Located on a branch of the North Loup River on a ranch in Cherry County, these falls are gradually moving to the west upstream in a process called “headcutting”. The flow of this creek is fed entirely by groundwater from the Ogallala Aquifer. Herds of bison graze in the area so the camera has been “bison proofed” – safely set inside a tall and sturdy fenced enclosure.
