Bear Creek

Bear Creek is located in northern Cherry County at the edge of the Sandhills and flows into the Niobrara River. A small stretch of Bear Creek is being restored from a down-cut, mostly straightened creek into its former shallow, meandering, snake-like features. The Sandhills Task Force is leading the effort, and once completed, a notable change in vegetation, animal habitat, and the overall beauty of the landscape will be apparent. This timelapse will take you through the restoration and show you the seasonal landscape change within the Sandhills ecosystem.
