Lied Platte River Bridge
LOOKING Closer
Located on the Marsh Wren Community Wetland, this camera looks at saline wetlands along the floodplain of Salt Creek. The property has been farmed, grazed, and most recently used by local hunt clubs for dog training. The manmade pond on the right is representative of similar ponds in the area developed by area sportsmen. Now, the Lower Platte South NRD, through its participation with the Saline Wetlands Conservation Partnership, is restoring the unique saline characteristics of the property by reconnecting salt-laden groundwater with the wetland. These saline wetlands and their corresponding flora and fauna comprise one of the most unique and threatened wetland communities in the region.
